NYWF Project update

I have been testing the New York World's fair 1964-65 project, and thanks to the hard work of the whole team, the world is shaping up very nicely.
Ambient Oclusion and normal maps have been added into the workflow pipeline, and it makes a huge difference on the final product.

WWI Proposal Prototype

Come Back To the Fair I have been working on a CG video to depict the German Zeppelin raids over England during WWI; I am very excited as I really enjoy anything that has to do with WWI and WWII and also because I can take a break of the NYWF project.
I have had less than 8 weeks to complete this prototype but I think that the outcome is very satisfactory.
The video is ready and all that is left to do is add the audio which I'll do at a later time

Come Back to the Fair

Come Back To the Fair I have been working on a new project titled Come Back to the Fair; this is a 3D virtual simulation with educational minigames similar to Lunar Quest.
It is supposed to take you back through the New York World's Fair as it stood back in 1964-1965.
While you explore the virtual fair, you encounter interactive minigames throughout the vast number of pavilions; ultimately, you get rewards as you sucessfully complete these minigames

TLAC RTS (U.S Army)

This week I'll be flying to my office in Orlando Florida where I'll be meeting with my team to brainstorm the details for the new series of Army contracts. I am really exited about these projects because they revolve around my favorite game genre, R.T.S.
The game itself will be titled TLAC (Think Like a Commander) and wil be divided into vignettes (or missions) containing minigames and other interactive training content. The game is aimed to update the fidelty and engagament of the US Army's TLAC existing DVD Course to a fully, interactive course using minigames and RTS (Real-Time Strategy) game play elements taken directly from the provided course content.

Navy Bull's Eye Trainer Completed!

Bull's eye trainer The trainer was recently finished by one of my cooworkers; I really wanted to finish it by myself (I was about 80% done) but I was the only artist left in the whole lab O_o (due to recent layoffs). I made the art in Photoshop CS3 and coded the trainer in Flash AS3. It was kind of a challenge because I had never used AS3 and had not coded anything in flash in years. In the end, I fell back in love with flash and its capabilities!

Navy Bull's Eye Trainer

I am currently working on the development of a flash game dedicated to familiarize Navy recruits with the ships bull's eye naming convention (room type and location in respecto to a certain point). It will be mainly an interface similar to a conventional GPS but with specilaized functions. I have posted preliminary renderings of the interface prototype; to check them out, visit my gallery page...

Navy Chapter 1 Cut Scene

Once again I took the role as a concept artist, 3d modeler, animator and video producer to develop the Navy trainer cut scene for chapter 1. It was not an easy task as the deadline was short and the client demanded perfection. Despite the pressure and mishaps, I managed to finished the cinematic on time and once again the client was really happy with the outcome. Please take a look of a sample clip from the cut scene here.

Lunar Quest MMO

Some people might have been wondering what I had been doing instead of updating my website for the past ten months. Well...  I have been deeply involved in a Serious Game MMO project. Due to the amount of people working on the project (six to be more exact) and the size of the project ( Online Massive Multiplayer Game, he) let me just say... I have been busy. For this project I have worked as ( within the most common): 3D modeler, texturer, animator, web designer, and  video editor.  and my main task though, has been  to develop high and low polygon 3D models for an MMO's (Massive Multiplayer Game) titled "Lunar Quest". This MMO is not like the common cookie cutter multiplayer game; Funded by NSF (National Science Foundation), Lunar Quest is an online game that seeks to improve the players knowledge in physics, while breaking away from the conventional classroom pedagogy. The idea behind Lunar Quest is to immerse the players in a 1950's lunar virtual world filled with quests that lead them to missions in the form of embedded flash based games. These casual games are filled with fun and funny missions that require the player's knowledge in specific physics laws in order to be accomplished. As the player accomplishes the missions, he/she will earn rewards such as ranks (cadet, captain, etc) and/or special equipment (Lunar rover, Robot Companion, Extended Air Supply, etc.).These rewards are necessary in order to advance in the game.
As of Right now, there is a demo of the game opened to the public free of charge. I encourage people to give it a try and to please post anything that you like or dislike about the game.
